Horseback Riding Adventure

Horseback riding has always been a great way to get outdoors and discover nature. Horses are able to go where technology can’t. They can carry humans and everything that we would need to make any length of a trek. They have always been the constant companion of the westward traveler, helping people explore and discover the beauty of the Northwest.

Now you can take part in your own horseback riding adventure throughout the Northwest. With hundreds of miles of trails extending out across the mountains and forests of Washington, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. If you’re new to riding, you can take an easier trail, perhaps only a few hours long. If you are used to being in the saddle all day, you can take a day trek through the mountain passes.

Along the trails, there are plenty of places to make camp for the night. This allows you to get a true western explorer experience. Spend the night under the stars. Stay warm next to the campfire. Wake in the morning to the sounds of the birds and the light of the sun rising over the tops of the mountains. Pack your gear and head back out on the trails.

When you decide to adventure out into the wilderness with your horse, you are in charge. You can decide where to go and what to see. You can take the trails you want. You can reach those hard to get at parts of the woods, full of lush green views. You can decide how far to go up the mountain trail to get to those scenic vistas. You don’t have to worry about how far between gas stations or hotels when you are on a horse. You just have to concern yourself with how far you and your horse want to go.

If you are interested in horseback riding adventures throughout the Northwest, but are new to horseback riding, or new to the area and don’t feel comfortable going out on your own, there are plenty of local ranches that offer horseback riding tours. Many dude and guest ranches, such as Bull Hill in Washington, offer daily rides through some of the Northwest’s most beautiful landscapes. Not only will you be able to refresh your riding skill, or learn for the first time, at the ranch, but you will have a guide along the trails.

Experience a new kind of freedom. Saddle up your horse and take to the trails of the Northwest. Come and see some of the best views in the country from the back of your horse.
