Glamping Destinations

Camping doesn’t have to be all about hiking, cooking over a campfire, and sleeping in sleeping bags in a tent. Today, the art of Glamping, glamorous camping, is spreading like wildfire across the United States. Now you can enjoy a chef prepared meal and sleeping on a real mattress all while enjoying nature. Glamping destinations vary in luxury, some going as far as offering air conditioning and private bathrooms with flushing toilets, but no matter which destination you choose, you will get more than just roasted marshmallows on a stick.

Resorts, such as Paws Up in Montana, gives guests high quality, stationary tents that come with electricity, heated floors, and room service. Guests can also enjoy luxuries such as a gourmet restaurant and spa tent. Similarly, the upscale Ranch at Rock Creek in Philipsburg, Montana offers Canvas Cabin tents with gas fireplaces, porches, and a king or queen sized bed. Both of these destinations can cost upwards of $1000 a night for certain cabins.

If that seems like a little too much for you, but you still aren’t quite sold on sleeping on the ground, there are other, more reasonably priced glamping destinations throughout the US. Some of these more reasonable accommodations include dude and guest ranches. The C Lazy U Ranch in Colorado has had luxury amenities for years. This ranch has areas for tennis, yoga, and an outdoor swimming pool. The cabins include pillow top mattresses and 300 thread-count linens. Some even come with a hot tub and mini-bar. These cabins cost a more reasonable price of about $300 a night during certain times of the year. Of course, this ranch also comes with the typical guest ranch amenities such as horseback riding, hiking, and activities like archery and fishing.

Other guest and dude ranches offer you similar glamping amenities, such as furnished cabins, real beds, and cooked meals. Depending on which ranch you choose will determine what amenities you will have at your disposal.

If you still like the idea of sleeping in a tent, but want more to your camping trip than just a few hotdogs roasted over the fire, there are a few places that come with plenty of modern amenities, but can be as low as $50 a night. For example, Glacier Under Canvas is located about seven miles away from Glacier National Park. Here you can choose a simple tipi with a cot or upgrade to a tent with bed all at a low price. So, after a day roaming the national park, you can come back to your tent and take a load off on your comfortable bed.

If camping isn’t your style, but you thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, then you might want to try glamping. With more and more wonderful glamping destinations popping up all over the country, there is sure to be one out there that comes with just the right amenities at just the right price.
