Northwest Horseback Riding

See Natures True Beauty – Northwest Horseback Riding

Whether you are new to horseback riding or have been working with horses your whole life, you haven’t truly experienced the beauty of nature until you’ve experienced Northwest horseback riding. With the green, lush rainforests dotting the landscape throughout Washington, and the picturesque views of the Northwest section of the Rocky Mountains, you’ll be hard pressed to find any other land like it. The best way to truly explore all parts of this great land is on the back of a horse.

When you adventure across the mountains on horseback, you are able to get up close and personal to the tall peaks, sleeping volcanoes, and impressive cliff faces. You can breathe in the mountain air, feel the sun on your face, and see nature how it is meant to be seen. Through the woods, you can trek quietly as your horse moves along the trail. The vibrant greens surrounding you, birds in the trees, animals scurrying around, none of these experiences can be truly appreciated from the back of a noisy automobile.

There are many different ways to experience the Northwest on horseback. If you have your own horse, there are hundreds of mile of horse trails weaving their way throughout the Northwest states. Many of these trails have nearby horse camping. By providing camping options, you won’t have to worry about fitting in your favorite trails into one short day.

If you are visiting from elsewhere or don’t have access to your own horse, you can always book a stay at one of the many dude or guest ranches in the area. These ranches offer lots of riding options throughout the area. For example, you can take guided mountain trail tours, day or half-day riding trips, nature rides, or even overnight camping rides. Some ranches also allow for guests to help with the annual cattle drives, which use horseback riders to wrangle cattle to the pasture in the spring and back to the ranch in the fall.

For those who are new to riding, dude and guest ranches may also provide riding lessons. You can learn how to ride, then take on some of the trails that are more suited to your comfort zone around the ranch. You’ll still get to experience the beauty of nature, but at your own pace.

If you’re looking for the best way to get closer to nature, then pack up your saddle bags. Bring you horse out to one of the hundreds of trails in the Northwest. Experience the beauty of the mountains when you take on Northwest horseback riding. Northwest Horseback Riding
